Schecter A-7 Plus Reviews 
5 / 5 based on 1 reviewsI got this guitar at a local Retailer (Willis Music in Lexington
Kentucky). I was actually there not even looking for a guitar.
I dropped in basically to waste some time and play a Line6 Head
(seems to be a hobby of mine, wasting time at the local gear shop).
I picked up a couple of guitars and played them, an NJ Virgin, a
Jackson, a couple of Deans, and I happened accross the schecter.
The tag said $400.
There is no one feature that peaked my interest other than
it is a seven string. I really was quite suprised by the tone
of the stock duncan humbuckers. I was actually planning on
changing them, but the more I play it the more I like them.
The volume balance between strings is incredible and the ability
to stay in tune after cranking some speedy death metal is wonderful.
I guess the only thing I don't like is that the headstock is
reversed (which is not a problem) and the seventh tuning key is
on the other side, by itself, (Just looks different). Oh, that and the fact that I didn't
buy it years ago....Seriously, this thing is just a power house
monster of an axe.
The over all construction of this guitar is very solid.

likes to be abused!!!! Just a plain meaty and solid axe.
The neck is fairly flat on the back and is very easy to play
(I belive it is maple), although the "out of the box" set up was
a bit buzzy. No biggy, a few minutes and we were in good shape.
The weight balance of the guitar is good also, it is heavy, but
evenly distributed. The finish is excellent, fretboard is rosewood,
and the cutaways allow for total access to all 24 frets. The body is
mahogony, and the design and shape is just eerily sleek. Mine was
a "gun metal grey" which is almost black, kinda like a deep grey
storm cloud.
Bottom line, I actually haggled a bit (which was kinda wrong, as
the guitar lists for $899 and had a tag of $400) and got them to
reduce the price again. I would have paid the list on this guitar
in a heart beat. I was not in the market for a new guitar at all,
and I was sold on the way it sounded, felt and looked. The guys at
willis music really went the extra mile to let me go home and get my
half stack to play it on, and I have fallen in love with my amp all
over again. This is hands down the best axe I have owned. Anyone
looking into a 7 String should give this axe some serious
